Nearly twenty local activists converged at Sears’ flagship store at #2 North State Street Tuesday, dressed festively for the holidays as reindeer and delivering to Sears fresh lumps of paper-mache coal in response to Sears’ refusal to abandon the outdated and destructive paper policies of the past. Accompanied by Santa Claus himself, the reindeer caroled such songs as “I saw Sears Cut Trees for Catalogs” (to the tune of “I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus”), and unveiled a banner reading “Sears has been Naughty to the Environment.”
