We handed out over 150 fliers and got many signatures on our petition.
We had 4 people and a child in costume. We worked for an hour & 1/2, before being asked to leave. The best place to flier was at the main mall entrance to Sears but we interfered with the Sal Army bell ringers and after over an hour, one of them told Mall Security about us and we were asked to leave which we quietly did, since I was tired of talking by that time. Everyone we spoke to was in support, but some were not inclined to sign. I am sure that Sears will come around to printing their catalog on recycled paper eventually. Maybe we should go after K Mart since they now own Sears.
Our local coop store is next to K Mart and has always found ir difficult to talk to the heads
re: parking lot and expansion issues. I think that they are afraid to make decisions and don't want to answer to their superiors for a mistake. We have to convince them of the truth, that the mistake is in NOT using recycled paper.

I also sent a letter to the CEO of Sears.
