On the first day of the campaign, I went to the Sears in Coralville with the Free The Planet! group at Grinnell College. Two of us made the trip to Iowa City to complete the letter delivery, and I feel it was very worthwhile. We met briefly with the manager at Coralville and told him about our campaign and how we want Sears to change its habits concerning catalogs. He seemed very open to our ideas and optimistic about the future. I believe we were successful in making the point that we will fight this nationwide, not only in the major cities with big actions but also making efforts to protest in smaller settings. We look forward to having more letter deliveries and actions against Sears in the future!
